Inspiration

“I constantly try to seek new sources of inspiration to fuel my passion for teaching and inform my choreography work. Inspiration can come from anywhere. I've provided information about the things that are currently inspiring me as a resource for skaters to inspire their training.”

Aspen art museum: Lost Without you

This simple yet compelling exhibit FOCUSES on the relationship and connection between everyday movements and choreography. The interactive GALLERY allows visitors to participate in several simple movements: climbing a staircase, passing through a revolving door, swinging on a swing and pressing into a wall. This challenges the visitors to think about how even everyday movements can inspire choreography.

The LA Dance Project

The LA Dance Project beautifully plays with juxtaposition. Throughout one of the pieces they performed at the University of Denver, the curtains and scrim were slowly removed, leaving just the dancers on the naked stage.

Aspen Santa Fe Ballet

This contemporary ballet company recently came to the new, architecturally gorgeous, University of Colorado at Colorado Springs ENT Center. Their innovative play with gravity and powerful, fluid duets made for a wonderful three-act performance.
